GeoMath Poland History

Our Story

GeoMath Poland was founded in 2010 by a group of passionate mathematicians and educators with deep connections to Poland's rich mathematical heritage. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the celebrated Polish mathematical traditions and contemporary educational needs.

The idea for GeoMath Poland emerged when Dr. Anna Kowalska, a Polish mathematician teaching at the University of Warsaw, recognized that many of the innovative teaching methods developed by the Polish School of Mathematics were not widely accessible to international students. Together with colleagues from various European universities, she established GeoMath Poland to share these valuable approaches with the global mathematical community.

Over the past decade, we have grown from a small academic initiative into a respected publisher of premium mathematical textbooks and educational materials. Our books are now used in universities and schools across Europe, North America, and Asia, helping students develop a deeper understanding of mathematics through the unique lens of Polish mathematical thought.

Our Mission & Values

Our Vision

To make the rich Polish mathematical tradition accessible to students worldwide, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of mathematics through innovative educational materials.

Our Mission

To publish high-quality mathematical books that combine rigorous content with intuitive explanations, following the celebrated teaching methods of the Polish School of Mathematics.

Our Values

We believe in academic excellence, accessibility of knowledge, cultural exchange, and the power of education to transform lives and societies. Every book we publish reflects these core values.

The Polish Mathematical Tradition

The Polish School of Mathematics, which flourished between World Wars I and II, is renowned for its significant contributions to various fields of mathematics, particularly set theory, logic, topology, and functional analysis. Centered primarily in Lwów (now Lviv, Ukraine) and Warsaw, this school produced numerous groundbreaking mathematicians whose work continues to influence modern mathematics.

Key figures included Stefan Banach, who developed the theory of Banach spaces; Stanisław Ulam, who made contributions to set theory and nuclear physics; Alfred Tarski, whose work revolutionized mathematical logic; and Kazimierz Kuratowski, who advanced the field of topology. The Polish mathematical tradition is characterized by its emphasis on foundational questions, rigorous proof techniques, and innovative problem-solving approaches.

What sets the Polish approach apart is its unique blend of abstract theory and intuitive understanding. Polish mathematicians were known for their ability to visualize complex concepts and communicate them clearly, making difficult mathematical ideas accessible without sacrificing rigor. This pedagogical approach, which prioritizes conceptual understanding over mere calculation, forms the foundation of our publishing philosophy at GeoMath Poland.

What Educators Say About Us

"GeoMath Poland's books have transformed the way I teach advanced geometry. The Polish approach, with its emphasis on intuition before formalism, helps my students develop a deeper understanding of complex concepts. These are by far the best mathematics textbooks I've encountered in my 20 years of teaching."

Dr. Michael Reynolds

Professor of Mathematics, University of Cambridge

"What sets GeoMath Poland apart is their unique ability to make abstract mathematical concepts tangible and accessible without sacrificing rigor. Our department has adopted several of their textbooks, and the improvement in student comprehension and enthusiasm has been remarkable."

Prof. Elena Martinez

Department Chair, Mathematics, ETH Zurich

"As a mathematics curriculum developer, I've reviewed countless textbooks, and GeoMath Poland's offerings stand out for their pedagogical excellence. The combination of historical context, clear explanations, and thoughtfully sequenced problems creates an exceptional learning experience."
